April was a pretty exciting month for giveaways on AnandTech. We gave away four Xooms courtesy of NVIDIA, our last one went to AnandTech reader Don of Charlotte, NC. Qualcomm also handed us a Snapdragon Mobile Development Platform, which AnandTech reader yelped won! Respond to my email to claim your MDP!

The giveaways aren't over however. This summer we'll be giving away another tablet, a smartphone, more memory and an SSD. Today, Antec has graciously provided two of its new soundscience rockus 3D 2.1 speaker systems for our next giveaway.

I'm curious to know what type of software is needed to utilise the "3D" mode. Not all sound cards like to be told what to do by a third party, particularly the audiophile ones (Xonars and Omegas.)

If the sound quality matches the esthetics these could be a real winner. Thanks Antec!

I think it would be cool if a computer speaker company got into noise cancellation... I would think a speaker that canceled out PC noise placed near the tower would be neat.

I have never had an Antec product before, but I love how sleek and simple these speakers look! It can be a pain to manage endless wires and keep things clean looking, but these look to make that a non-issue. Definitely wouldn't mind trying these out, and I'll keep an eye on Antec in the future to see if they continue with this style!

If the quality of your new speakers matches what you guys do for cases and power supplies, then you have another winner on your hands!

Love the design of the subwoofer/amplifier! I would buy a computer case that looks exactly like that tomorrow if it were available!

Not so wild about the satellite speaker designs. I have a similar type of satellites and I have noted that they tip backwards very easily because of the way the foot/stand is designed. I know they are designed to be front heavy and the foot design reflects that, but when shuffling papers around on my desk, a slight bump knocks them over (and they usually fall to the ground because I have them positioned at the edge of my desk). Also not to crazy about the chrome-ish lip and visible honeycomb grill. I haven't seen one in person yet, but if the chrome parts are simply painted plastic, it's an instant turn-off for me.

Personally, I prefer a tower/column satellite speaker style over these bullet designs. Good examples of this design (again personal preference) are the Focal Professional XS, Bose Companion 3 Series II, Bose Companion 5, I like towers because I find that it elevates the soundstage just a little bit (which make a difference, at least for me) and provides better imaging than these directed, bullet style speakers.

It would be really cool if you added a soft back-glow on the subs branding/logo creating a halo effect!

But, I would love it if they'd bring back fanless PSU's. Or at least keep the fan off till you hit 40-60% load. I want cases with built in handles and built in sound dampening material like NZXT does. Other than that I'd love to give these the rundown; I'm currently shopping for speakers anyway:)

Looks pretty neat, sound is what matters though.

I've been using the built-in speakers on my monitor for the past 2 years. When listening to certain podcasts I can barely hear anything with the volume maxed. Come to me!!!!!!

But still cool, nice little set of boom sticks.
