Having had a chance to visit most of the motherboard manufacturers in Computex so far, I popped from the Zotac booth into the AMD booth on my way to a meeting to see if anything was interesting.  Luckily, there was - a wall of AMD motherboards, with quite a few for the upcoming FM2 chipset supporting Trinity processors.

It is important to note that most FM2 motherboards will ship with one of two Fusion Controller Hubs (FCH) - either A85X or A75.  To add confusion to the mix, A75 can be used with both Llano and Piledriver, so some vendors will be using the A75 FCH but naming their boards as 'A85'.  Other vendors will be using A85X chipset and also naming their boards as 'A85'.  The differences between the two indicate that A85X has eight SATA 6 Gbps ports native compared to six on A75, and that A85X can support RAID 5 operation whereas A75 cannot.

Shouldn't DisplayPort now be standard on all boards in 2012? VGA + DVI is so 2005

Perhaps, but as far as I can see, DisplayPort-equipped monitors are still a little more expensive.

I can't think of a single reason why you'd want two PCIe 2.0 x16 ports on a Trinity board; seems to be a common thing across those full ATX boards.

Display Port is the USB of monitor connections and can send out DVi, HDMI, analog and a plethora of other display signal types.

That A85X mATX board with 8 sata6 ports makes me want a six+ core Trinity with lower graphics and not such a great clock speed to build a low-cost server. Does AMD bother with drivers for Windows server on their A75/A85X chipsets?

With the hd 7660 only for oem use ,that leaves hd 7750,hd7770 left for xfiring with fm2.
Now 2 hd7770+the igp = to a gtx 580 or better .Not bad for around 250$ for gpu
Looks to me like the APU is going to be a hot commodity.

These ecosystems are called kelp forests because they are structurally similar to land forests. This kelp is only found in a very specific area, along the rocky California coastline. It requires cool, nutrient-rich waters to grow. Water must be clear, and areas where there is a constant upswelling from the nutrient-rich depths are particularly well-suited to kelp forests. Growing in water up to 90 feet deep, giant kelp has structures called holdfasts that allow it to anchor itself to the rocks along the coast. Along the body of the plant are series of bladders that help keep the kelp floating in an upright position. Thanks a lot.
